The Nina Blouse featuring polar bears
Brrr…I thought Spring had arrived, but suddenly it’s really cold again here in The Netherlands. When I told Isabella I was asked by Claudia of @fr.love to join The Nina Blouse Tour and showed her the Nina Blouse, a pattern designed by Olga from Coffee & Thread, she was thrilled right away.
Hmmm, what fabric would be cute? The Nina Blouse has a sweet vintage vibe with several options. Isabella and I decided to make a short capped sleeve version, with a plain Peter Pan collar. So we went through my fabric stash and found a Soft Cactus Fabric, yes, with polar bears. Why not, Isabella said. So yeah, why not? Let’s hope she will wear it this coming Summer when it’s really hot outside. She will stay cool ;).
You all know by now that I love piping ;). This blouse is perfect to add some nice colored piping to the sleeves and if you have enough, the collar as well. I ran out of enough orange piping, so I decided to add it only to the sleeves. I love the subtle orange flowers in the fabric and thought it would be nice to add it. And look what I found in my bag full of lovely buttons, a perfecting matching orange (thank you my lovely friend Anouk! When (unfortunately) she decided to stop with her fabric store, I could buy all her buttons she had left! Whoohoo, they are all so cute).
I think this pattern is a must have :)! It’s cute, it’s versatile, it’s perfect for layering when it’s slightly cold….uhm, and so many more reasons to think of… You just gotta make it! And you know what, during the tour there is a discount in the Coffee & Thread webshop! Get 20% off the total purchase with NINAPATTERNTOUR.
