I can’t believe One Thimble Issue 17 is already here. I have been so extremely busy at work the last few weeks I haven’t had the time to spend much time behind my sewing machine. So, I am sorry for my absence! (please know; some One Thimble links I use in this blogpost are affliliated, but please know, all opionions are my own!!).

Luckily I have been invited to join the OT tour again, so that made me decide to change it and start sewing again. When I saw the reveals of OT 17 it wasn’t really hard to decide… I loved the BDO Jacket, a pattern by Ainsley Fox Boutique Patterns. I mean, who doesn’t love a cool denim jacket! Isabella chose a cool light weight denim fabric with golden feathers. I bought it in a Dutch webshop here.

And then when I was sewing the jacket, Isabella joined me (coloring in the meantime) and said; hey mum, why make sleeves on it…? Let’s skip them! So, this time I listened to Isabella and you know what, I think it’s really cool! Since the fabric I chose was kind of light weight (too light I guess) I decided to line the jacket. I used an oldie from Soft Cactus fabrics.

I think it’s perfect for layering. We’re heading into winter here in The Netherlands, so this one is great for wearing it a every day with a long sleeve tee 😉 .

In this One Thimble Issue #17 there is another great pattern involved… The Nori Dress, designed by Paisley Roots. It’s really a summery dress, and I have been lucky to test it last summer. Right now it’s way too cold overhere, but in Australia summer is only beginning! Please know that the version I am showing you here, was a test version and the released version has more coverage on the bodice. The Nori Dress is a great fiesta dress to twirl away :)!
