It’s here, One Thimble #15
Have you seen it? The newest issue of One Thimble has released! So many patterns again :). It was hard to decide what to make this time….choices 😉 . (this post includes affiliate links, however, as always, all opinions are my own)
Well, when I saw some pictures of the Hipster Teddy Bear, a pattern by Swoodson Says, I knew it would be the perfect gift for a sweet little baby boy who turned one last weekend. I used fabric from an old blouse Philip did not wear anymore, and I think the result is just perfect. The mixture of colors is perfect for a one year old, don’t you think?
And then, Isabella is already a big girl, I mean she just turned 6, so I think you mama’s know what I mean… (wow, how things change so quickly. She really knows what she wants -lol-). So a little lady needs a proper school bag, right? I was so excited when I saw the Millitary Messenger Bag from Fabulous Home Soon I knew she would love it. All her classmates have backpacks and the older children have bags like this…so yes, now she feels really, really big :). I used a laminated cotton from Soft Cactus Fabrics, one of my favorite brands! It’s an oldie, so maybe you try real hard, you can still find it somewhere on the internet. For the inside I used a thicker canvas-like fabric (hmmm an oldie as well) from The Needle Shop.
And last but definitely not least, the Metro Slimfit Blazer by Winter Wear Designs. Although it might be a pattern for boys, I think it’s great for girls as well. The pattern is meant for cotton, but I know Isabella loves soft and cosy jackets. So I decided to make it in a knit (and it’s fully lined, so it can be used as a jacket for colder days, and yes, we have lots of them in The Netherlands 🙁 …). A few months ago I went to a fabric market and bought some lovely knits, which were perfect to use for color blocking. I really love the koi :).
So much more to explore! So hop on over to One Thimble to get a glimpse of what’s inside!!
And I am quite sure you like to get inspired… So many beautiful makes.

Wow, so many great makes! This issue looks like a good one. I love that you made her a school satchel – goodness, she’s growing up so fast!
