A few weeks ago I joined the tester group for the “back to school” Skola dress & top pattern by Elegance & Elephants.

Wow, what a great pattern! So many options in just one pattern :). It is perfect for every season since you can make it sleeveless, short or long sleeves, with or without collar, a drop-waisted skirt, an A-line one piece dress… And you could make a top as well. So it has everything in it to become a favorite pattern to make over and over again.

I decided to make view A, the A-lined dress. I had some nice dark blue fabric (baaah, nameless?!?)  in my stash which was perfect for this dress, and since we are heading towards autumn here, I thought using blue would be good. I made a sleeveless dress with a round collar (in a nice contrasting color), so for colder days, it could be combined with a longsleeve underneath or a cardigan on top. Isabella loved it 🙂 and since it is quite a quick sew, I didn’t mind making another view right away. This time view B without a collar. Again I could grab a knit from my stash. With only half a meter left of these cute orange birds from Megan Blue Fabrics, I managed to make a sleeveless version and used a orange knit for the facings. Perfect :).
